About the Scholarship:
Each year Community 1st Credit
Union awards four (4) $1,000 scholarships to graduating high
school seniors. This is our way of acknowledging academic
excellence and of encouraging students to further their
education.
These funds may be used for tuition, supplies
and books. Any certified education or training school qualifies.
Once the student is enrolled and ready for payment, they should
contact the credit union with the school's name, address and
their student I.D. number. A check will then be made payable to,
and mailed directly to the college, university, community
college or vocational/technical school of choice.
Who is Eligible & What is
Required:
Any graduating high school senior who is a
member, or an immediate family member of a member, of Community
1st Credit Union is eligible to apply. (Immediate
family includes sibling, child, stepchild, grandchild.)
Judging:
A professional in the field of academics who is
also an impartial third party will judge applications and
essays. The judges will not be volunteers, staff, management or
members of the Credit Union.
Winners will be selected based on:

The application must be completed and returned to the
credit union on or before March 31st. The mailing

Attach the following items to your application:

All letters of recommendation outlining the
student’s moral character, leadership and participation skills,
college potential and scholastic record.
¨
A typed essay on “What the Credit Union Means to
My Family and Me”. The essay should be between 200 and 300
words.
